Pioneer Day / 24 of July

The 24 of July or Pioneer Day is a big deal here in Utah. Cedar Hills does it's Family Festival at the same time. We had allot of things to do this week. We went to a rodeo that was really good with allot of big name cowboys. But the rodeo clown is always my favorite.

We also had tickets to see an Orem Owlz baseball game. It was fun but the Owlz lost.

It's not everyday that you see a big piggy bank fly over your house. That was part of the Lulu and late-night movie (they showed The Bee Movie on a giant blow-up screen.) that Cedar Hills does at the park. It was warm until the sun went down.

The parade was on Saturday, it goes up the street behind my house. It was good, mostly companies advertising and allot of candy. Yes, my neighbors are sitting behind a swamp cooler to keep cool.

Of course there must be fireworks. Cedar Hills has gotten known for it's firework show. It was 20 minutes long and you tune into a radio station for the music that goes with the show. They shoot them off from a block west of our house. We have a good view. Allot of people come to see it, our street was full of cars.

The carnival was at the park, which is two blocks from our house (I love our location). The funny thing is that the student council and the missionaries run the booths. This year was very fun.

Wow! Tooele hardly celebrates at all, other than the children's parade at night. I'm jealous, what a fun day!
